To the coast!

I have to admit I didn't really know what to expect from Wales but I have to say this tour made me fall in love with it. The coast is stunning! (even in crap weather).

The tour starts at the national museum which is right beside the university

It's Wales, there had to be a dragon pic at some point. . .

The tour then heads to Swansea for a quick stop at the Dylan Thomas Centre. I didn't know much about Dylan Thomas but the exhibit is really well done and a bit interactive. I would share some of the details but it was 2 months ago so a bit foggy today . . .

First coastal stop is Langland Bay at which they drop you off and then you walk around the coastline to meet the bus back at Caswell Bay. During this 45 minute walk it was crazy windy sunny and rainy all at the same time - fun.

Apparently the green beach huts go for over 500,000 pounds in some places but here you can just rent them

Langland Bay

Crazy wind!

Caswell Bay

The we were off to Parc le Breos which was once a great medieval deer park. The main reason to visit the park is to see a 6000 yr old Neolithic burial chamber - kinda crazy! Workmen digging for road stone in 1869 uncovered an early Neolithic cromlech built around 5850 BP – now known as Parc Cwm long cairn (Welsh is a little hard to read for someone like me) or Parc le Breos burial chamber.

From there we headed to Rhossili Bay where I trekked to Worm's Head. It also apparently has one of the top 10 beaches in the world though it was hard to imagine the weather being warm enough to ever go to the beach!

The infamous beach

This shot was supposed to capture how crazy the waves were

This was also the lunch part of the tour - found a little place making homemade pasties - super tasty!

Then it was off to Worm's Head

The starting point of the short, but challenging trek

It;s like Izzy was there!

Me blowing away . . .

This was the end of the cliff, while you can head down to this level and keep going but it was so windy it was impossible to walk and even holding the camera steady was a challenge!

And the last stop on the tour was Weobley Farm and ruins but getting there was a bit of a challenge . . .

Another view

You guessed it - another view!

Then it started to torrentially pour so #tourover

After a long day, this and this were required . . .
