Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples

My final stop on the tour were the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples. The are known as megalithic temples - basically it means they were built from big stones that are used to form the structure. These were built about 5,000 years ago. There isn't much known about their use but they have stunning views.

The sites are covered to protect them from the ele

Once I was down roaming the rocks, I headed down the coast on one of the trails they have set up at the site. Apparently I was supposed to see different types of plants and birds but it must have been the wrong time of year . . .?

Anyways, here are some of the views.

Scattered on the island are 13 towers that were used to protect it once upon a time from the Turkish. The Tal Hamrija is one of the 13 and built by the Grand Masters from 1658-59.
